Apple and Hazelnut cake

Ingredients :

  • Apple - 2 
  • Dates - 3 or 4
  • Dry Roasted Hazelnuts - 100g
  • Cinnamon powder - 1 tsp
  • Self-raising flour - 225g
  • Golden caster sugar - 225g
  • Unsalted butter - 225g
  • Baking powder - 1 tsp
  • Eggs - 3




Method :

Peel the apples. Slice 1/2 apple and grate the rest
Chop dates 
Chop hazelnuts 


Beat butter, eggs and caster sugar


Add self-raising flour, baking powder and cinnamon and fold until smooth


Add dates and grated apple


Add hazelnuts


Line a 20cm square cake tin
Add the cake mix and smooth
Arrange apple slices on top



Sprinkle some caster sugar on top


Pre-heat Oven to 180 degrees and back for 25-30 mins


Cut in to slices and Serve
