Chicken Chettinadu

Ingredients :





  • 500 g of chicken
  • 15 small onions
  • One or two pieces of garlic 
  • ginger
  • Pepper corns
  • One teaspoon turmeric powder
  • One spoon of red chilli powder
  • 3 spoon of curd
  • 1 big size tomatoes
  • spices(2 cloves,2 cardamon, cinnamon stick, 1 star anise,1 bay leaves)
  • 3 spoon of coconut
  • 1 spoon of fennel seeds, poppy seeds, cumin seeds, coriander seeds
  • Salt
  • Oil 
  • curry leaves and fresh coriander leaves

Method :


Marinate chicken with ginger-garlic paste, curd,salt, tumeric pwd and red chilli pwd for atleast 1 hour.



In a pan, add little oil fry All spices (spices(2 cloves,2 cardamon, cinnamon stick, 1 star anise,1 bay leaves)
3 spoon of coconut
1 spoon of fennel seeds, poppy seeds, cumin seeds, coriander seeds)


Grind this mixture in to a fine paste



In a pan add 3 spoon of oil. add onion, chillies(optional) curry leaves


fry well until onion browns, add tomatoes with salt


Now add marinated chicken and cook for 15 minutes.


add the paste and cook for 10 minutes. garish with fresh leaves






Serve hot with plain rice/kuska. yummy and tasty
