Beetroot Rice

Ingredients :




  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 2 beetroot(1 grated/1 chopped)
  • 1 cup of basmati rice
  • 2 bay leaf,2 clove,cinnamon, 2 cardamon(spice)
  • Ginger garlic paste
  • 1 onion
  • One teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 3 green chilli sliced
  • 1 spoon garam masala powder
  • lemon juice(optional)
  • 1 spoon of coriander powder/mint leaves
  • coriander  leaves
  • Salt
  • Oil /ghee

Method :


Add 2 bay leaf,2 clove,cinnamon, 2 cardamon(spice),cumin seeds,green chilli in a pan. fry them in oil/ghee

Add onion, ginger-garlic paste. fry them well until raw smell disappears



Add tomatoes and beetroot, fry well for 2 min.


Add  1 cup of rice and measure 2 cups of water

Bring in to boil and close the lid
Garish with fresh coriander leaves/mint leaves and fresh lemon



Serve hot with raita/potato crisps
