Vada Curry Recipe

Ingredients :

  • One cup chana dal
  • Four red chillies
  • Two onions
  • Two tomatoes
  • Curry leaves
  • Teaspoon of ginger garlic paste
  • Red chilli powder, jeera powder and coriander powder (one teaspoon each)
  • Two cardamom pods, two cloves, bay leaf, one inch cinnamon, star anise
  • Salt
  • Oil

Method :

To start this curry add curry leaves and oil to a vessel and fry. Also add cardamom pods, two cloves, bay leaf, one inch cinnamon and star anise. 

Next add onion, ginger garlic paste and tomatoes. Add all the powders + salt and two cups water and leave it on sim for a few minutes.

You should make the vada by grinding the cana dal, salt and red chillies together.

Fry litlle balls until golden brown and add to curry and simmer for 5 minutes

Garnish with coriander and serve with set dosa.
