Poondu Kuzhambu (Garlic Gravy)

Ingredients :

  • Garlic (20-25 pieces)
  • Small Onion - 8 (finely chopped)
  • Ginger
  • Coriander leaves
  • Curry leaves
For Grinding: 
  • Coriander seeds - 2 teaspoons
  • Red Chilli whole (4-5)
  • Cumin Seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Fennel seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coconut pieces handful
  • Salt
  • Oil

Method :


In a pan, add 1 teaspoon of oil, fry cumin seeds, coriander seeds, coconut, Red chillies in medium flame. 


In a kadai, add sesame oil or any cooking oil fry all garlic pieces, small onion, ginger, curry leaves in a medium flame.


Then grind the fried things along with fennel seeds into very fine paste.

Add ground masala, salt to taste.


Add Coriander leaves, cook until oil separates.


Serve with hot rice, any veg and poppadom.
