How to make Tomato Chutney

Ingredients :

    • Two tomatoes (chopped)
    • Coconut (chopped)
    • Handful of curry leaves
    • Handful of coriander
    • Shallots (five to six)
    • One tablespoon of urid dal
    • Four red chillies
    • Oil
    • Salt (to taste)
    • Teaspoon of mustard seeds

Method :

First heat some oil in a medium sized pan and add the urid dal. To this add the tomato and shallots. After a few minutes add the coconut, half of the curry leaves, coriander, red chillies, and salt.


At this stage add everything in the pan to a grinder and grind to your preferred consistency and transfer the chutney to a bowl.


For tempering, heat some oil in the pan and add the mustard seeds and the remaining curry leaves and add this to your tomato chutney.


Serve warm with dosa or idli. Hope you enjoy!
