How to make Mushroom Biryani

Ingredients : 

    • One tomato (chopped)
    • One onion (chopped)
    • Handful of mint leaves, handful of coriander, some cashews, two green chillies (grinded into paste)
    • Garlic Ginger paste (one tablespoon)
    • One star anise, four cloves, one bayleaf, one inch of cinnamon, cardamom.
    • 300g of mushrooms
    • 300g of rice
    • Oil
    • Salt (to taste)
    • Teaspoon of garam masala powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and half teaspoon of turmeric powder

Method :

In a pressure cooker, heat some oil and add onion, star anise, cloves, one bayleaf, cinnamon and cardamom. Add tomatoes and garlic ginger paste and the green paste after two minutes and fry for five mins.


Add mushroom garam masala powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder. Add 600 ml of water and rice. Cook until one whistle.


Can be enjoyed with raita or mushroom kurma.
