How to make Kanji with Thuvaiyal

Ingredients : 

  • Half green gram beans
  • One cup cracked wheat
  • Ten garlic
  • Teaspoon of fenugreek/methi seeds
  • Five red chillies
  • Coconut
  • Tamarind
  • Toor dal (two tablespoons)
  • Five garlic

Kanji Method :

Add the green gram and cracked wheat, salt and garlic to a pressure cooker. Add four cups of water and cook for five whistles.

Thuvaiyal Method :

Dry fry the toor dal, coconut, garlic, chillies and tamarind. Add this to a grinder with salt and water as required.
